The medical director of the Cardiovascular Institute of Orlando is an eminent cardiologist. Since the CIO's initiation in 2009, Dr. Dara has very passionately managed Cardiovascular diseases. Dr. Dara practices a very personal style of care, and her patients say they think of the staff at Cardiovascular Institute of Orlando as family.
Dr. Dara earned her medical degree at Osmania Medical College, one of the oldest medical schools globally, and completed her education and residencies at Virginia Commonwealth Uni-versity. She is board certified in both cardiology and internal medicine and affiliated with Ad-vent Health Systems.
Dr. Dara believes in treating the whole patient, not just the disease symptoms, in improving overall health. Each patient is treated as family, as our institute believes in laying a solid founda-tion in the community to help with community health care needs.

The Cardiovascular Institute of Orlando is very proud to introduce you to Dr. Amitra Caines, a Board Certified Cardiologist. Dr. Caines received her medical training from notable institutions with outstanding academic performance, including an honorable mention in Biochemistry at McMaster University, Hamilton, Ont. Canada, Medical School at Case Western Reserve Univer-sity in Cleveland, OH, Residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Illinois at Chicago, and General and Interventional Cardiology Fellowships at the University of Florida Jacksonville.
Dr. Caines has over 19 years of extensive professional experience in the medical field in the care and prevention of different types of heart and vascular conditions. Among her specialties are Consultative General Cardiology, Nuclear Cardiology, Vascular Imaging, Stress Lab, Open Heart or Minimally Invasive Surgical Procedures, and Echocardiography. Dr. Caines enjoys spending time outdoors enjoying the beautiful Central Florida weather with her family in her spare time.
